When adding a static route, is it mandatory to include both the gateway and the interface?

When adding a static route on a MikroTik router, it is not mandatory to include both the gateway and the interface. Including just the gateway is sufficient for the route to function correctly. A static route specifies a path for network traffic that is not automatically discovered by routing protocols. The key element of a static route is the destination network and the gateway through which to reach that network.
